72ft Yacht Charter

12 degrees have been appointed as Exclusive Agent for the Challenge 72ft Big Spirit Adventures.

The design principles for the 72ft Global Challenge race fleet were carefully chosen to ensure they are safe, seaworthy and offering high performance in a wide variety of conditions. They are optimised for heavy upwind sailing but perform well in the wide variety of conditions they faced while racing around the world.

This yacht has a very successful record having recording two safe and successful round the world races (BT Global Challenge 2000/1 and the Global Challenge 2004/5), winning the last race in 2004/2005 and is still the holder of the class record for the round the island race on the south coast.

However, you are not expected to be quite so daring, spending a few days, braving the elements of the Solent & the Channel. The yacht will be sailed by a professional skipper and mate but guests will be encouraged to take part in all aspects of sailing including helming, winching and tacking, or if preferred, they can just sit back and enjoy the occasion.

This 72ft Global Challenge Racing Yacht has circumnavigated the globe twice particpating in the 1996-1997 BT Global Challenge and 1992-1993 British Steel Challenge. Billed as 'the world's toughest yacht race'. The design of this yacht has proved to be capable of withstanding the worst sea conditions the planet can manifest.
